ABOUT
A game that explores the feeling of boredom, as well as the part it plays in the conflict between personal wants vs Societal needs. You play as a worker, living their life by going through the tasks they do. Having the option to make their tasks more lively at higher risks.
Background and Process
The Final experimental project of my bachelors studies aimed to look at the common conflict between someone's personal wants versus the needs/expectations society places on them.
The game's premise and basic gameplay was to serve the purpose of making the experience as un-stimulating and unengaging as possible to reflect common situations most people find themselves in, almost an Anti-game. This is where your imaginary friend "Chutar" would perform the gamification of your tasks: Adding a scoring system, more skill based tasks etc. The use of Chutar would drastically alter your player character both physically and emotionally. If you weren't careful with your use of Chutar, they would take control of your life more and more.
The point of the game was to communicate my personal importance of finding balance in your self-serving wants, and your societal responsibilities. Being consumed by one side or the other would always cause issues.
